The Research Process

This guide will help aid you through the research process.

Data and Datasets

Two places you can go to learn more about datasets are Sage Research Methods and the library's Open Educational Resources page on data.

Sage Research Methods

The Sage Research Methods database (SRM) can help you understand how to use and interpret datasets, as well as connecting you to datasets in various disciplines. To reach the dataset content in this database, go to the Browse By menu and select Datasets under Content Type.

Datasets are browsable by discipline or methodology. Some resources are explanatory, describing how data is collected or interpreted. Others are actual datasets that can be used for research.

Finding Datasets Online

The library has compiled lists of open access data repositories accessible online. Visit our Open Educational Resources guide to browse these selected dataset resources.
