Services for Faculty

What can the library do for you?

Information Literacy Sessions

With the vast array of growing information each year, it has become vital that students develop comprehensive information literacy skills in order to become lifelong learners.  This is where librarians can aid you in educating Alvernia's students.

Contact one of the librarians (Opens in New Tab) to schedule a class. Recorded sessions can also be arranged for asynchronous classes.

Course Reserves

Print Items

Books, articles, & DVDs can be placed on reserve for student use in the library.  Faculty should complete a Reserve Materials Form (Opens in New Tab) for each item.

Electronic Items

Create a list of electronic reserve items for students within your Canvas course page.

For questions about reserves contact our Library Assistant (Opens in New Tab).

Librarians are here to help you with your research needs!  Email, chat, virtual, and in-person reference help is available at the Franco Library or online at http://www.alvernia.edu/library/ (Opens in New Tab).

Collection Development

Have a specific topic that you or your students are researching, but the library doesn't have immediate access to what you're looking for? Suggest a purchase (Opens in New Tab) for the library's collection.
