Archives and Special Collections

Archives and Special Collections.

The Alvernia University Archives collection is the final repository for the historically and legally valuable records of the University. Its primary purpose is to collect and preserve University history and to make that history accessible to administrators, faculty, staff, students, alumni and members of the community.

In addition to preserving the visual and written institutional record of the University, Alvernia also collects and preserves other materials that support the educational and cultural interests of the University and its neighboring region. Currently, these Special Collections consist of the John Updike Collections, Senator Michael A. O’Pake Papers, and Bishop’s Company Repertory Players Archives.

The University Archives and Special Collections are located in Alvernia University's Franco Library in Reading, Pennsylvania.
